Guide To The Stones Empty Guide To The Stones

There are seven powerful Stones in Mystasia. Each Stone is, on Earth, just an ordinary rock of some type, but on Mystasia they grant mysterious powers to those they choose. When a child hits ten years of age, they are exposed to the Stone of their country, and if they are chosen they then are taught by more experienced Users in how to master their Stone's gifts. In the past, this was a very rare gift, given only to those destined to be a holder of or a subject in a prophecy, but in recent years the number of Users has been increasing rapidly, so much so that almost everyone is a User- and even more people are duplicate Users, people who master more than one Stone. This has become a worrying thought for those who know the reason behind the Stones' existences, but an exciting one to any young child looking forward to receiving their first Stone.

When a User uses their Stone, their eyes change colour. What colour depends on the Stone being used, and the individual User.

A Stone Beast is a guardian of the Stone. Not only that, but it can also be referred to as the heart and mind of the Stone. As a Stone chooses a User, it is actually the Beast that chooses it, and this beast also decides how much power this User gets over their Stone, and has been known to whisper into a User's ear.

A 'Main Stone' is the main chunk of the Stone, where the Stone Beast lives. Both are usually kept in a vault in a trusted User's home.

Sometimes, a User of a Stone may begin to lose control over their Stone, either because it is too powerful for them or because the Stone Beast has decided they are not worthy of it. When this happens it is called 'Rejection', but the rejection process varies between Stones. The worst one is by far the Obsidian Stone, whose rejected Users have been known to go on rampages and be nearly unstoppable. The last time this happened, it took Users of all the Stones to stop the rejected shape-shifter, and even then it took a long, long time.

Note; There is no limit to how many Users of each Stone you can play. Most shape-shifters are User of one Stone, but a few can have more than one. Some can have all of them, but this will be rare. If you're unsure of a power, talk to me.

For the jobs offered section, some jobs are offered specifically to Users of this Stone. Sometimes they are exclusively for those Users, other times the Stone simply gives the person a better chance of getting that job.

Obsidian
Country Of Main Stone; Gaia
Protected By; TBD
Stone Beast Species; A red-eyed black wolf roughly the size of a horse
Current Users; None yet
Past Users (in roleplay); None yet
Eye Colour; Any shade of red, or black.
Powers; When in use, the shape-shifter has incredible strength and ferocity. They know no fear, and will quite literally rip their enemies apart if in battle.
Jobs Offered; Gives a better chance of becoming a guard
Flaws; The rejection process. Also, they are sometimes unable to differentiate between friend and foe when using this Stone. It also has a bad reputation- everyone fears Obsidian.
Rejection Process; When this Stone rejects, the first sign is an unusually short temper. A User may snap despite being generally friendly at times, or even attack someone, though they will quickly get a grip on their temper. Many don't recognise this symptom, and assume it is down to stress.
The next step of the rejection is also subtle. Animals will begin to react suspiciously to this User, and even pets who have never growled in their lives will begin to snarl and even try to bite the User, smelling the power of the Stone about to take over.
The third step is the powers of the Stone activating without the User's say so. This is when things start to get dangerous, as the powers tend to activate along with a temper snap. The User must remove their Stone before they progress to the next stage, otherwise there will be no stopping the rejection process without doing something to convince the Stone Beast to let them go- usually, this something involves sacrificing a life.
The fourth step is that the User will be drawn to other Users of their Stone. They will begin to follow a specific User, often the most powerful one they find, and will follow any and all commands that User gives. This can seem amusing at first, but once a command is given it cannot be revoked. Naturally, this means if you tell a rejected User to attack someone as a joke, they will keep attacking until either they or their target is dead. At this point, their beast form will change into a pure black wolf with the same colour eyes as they would have when using their Stone. This is the most notable symptom of the rejection, especially since even in human form they have red eyes.
The fifth and final step is where the rejected User will no longer have any control whatsoever over their actions. If they see anyone who is not their chosen 'master', they will attack and kill them. They are virtually unstoppable by this stage, having incredible power, agility and speed. Their wolf form will now have grown to the size of a horse, and their eyes will now be red as blood always- they will also be stuck in wolf form permanently. Very few live to this stage, as most will usually be killed at the fourth stage.

Lapis Lazuli
Country Of Main Stone; Solaria
Protected By; TBD
Stone Beast Species; A blue-eyed white lioness roughly the size of a horse
Current Users; None yet
Past Users (in roleplay); None yet
Eye Colour; Any shade of blue.
Powers; When in use, the shape-shifter can read minds and even see the future. They can also read and control emotions.
Jobs Offered; Gives a better chance of becoming a mediator when combined with Moonstone.
Also gives a chance of becoming a representative.
Flaws; Use of this Stone can lead to extreme headaches and, at times, unconsciousness.
Rejection Process; This Stone has no special show or displays when it rejects. It simply cuts off all use of the power to the User, so that they can no longer use the Stone.

Moonstone
Country Of Main Stone; Lunaria
Protected By; TBD
Stone Beast Species; A silver-eyed barn owl roughly the size of a golden eagle
Current Users; None yet
Past Users (in roleplay); None yet
Eye Colour; Any shade of grey, most commonly silver.
Powers; The Moonstone is able to record and replay memories (like a video camera), and has always been the most common of all Stones. It also has the ability to create anything the User wants, though only certain Users get this ability.
Jobs Offered; All Moonstone Users are offered the job of mediator, which is a job exclusive to these Users.
Flaws; The memory recordings and replays have no effect on the User, however if a User creates something, it drains them severely, and can even cause death if overused. Only a small few can use it without severe side effects.
Rejection Process; A Moonstone that can only record and replay memories will never reject. A Moonstone that creates will kill the User when it rejects. There is no warning before death.

Amber
Country Of Main Stone; Celestia
Protected By; TBD
Stone Beast Species; An emerald eyed white deer that is around the size of a bear
Current Users; None yet
Past Users (in roleplay); None yet
Eye Colour; Any shade of green, usually very vivid.
Powers; The Amber's first and most common power is that the User will never get sick and never die of old age. The User is also able to look as old or as young as they wish, and modify their appearances to look like anyone they like, though how long depends on the User's control. As long as they aren't fatally injured, they can live for centuries. However, the second power, one only certain Users get, allows the User to control anything created by a Moonstone User.
Jobs Offered; The job of representative is often offered to this User due to the fact they can look like their leaders if needed.
Flaws; The first power of the Amber does not have any side-effects or flaws, other than it cannot prevent or heal injuries. However, the second power can cause extreme headaches for a User, and even death if overused. Very few can use this Stone without severe side effects.
Rejection Process; The Amber Stone's rejection process is quite an obvious one. The power that prevents a User from aging and dying will disable, and the User will age at a rapid rate until they look the age they are. If they are above the natural lifespan, they will begin to fall sick and eventually die.

Bloodstone
Country Of Main Stone; Celestia
Protected By; TBD
Stone Beast Species; A green and red-eyed dark-furred (almost black) grizzly bear roughly three times the size of a normal grizzly.
Current Users; None yet
Past Users (in roleplay); None yet
Eye Colour; Any shade of green with any shade of red flecks in.
Powers; The Bloodstone allows the User to use magic, more or less. They can turn invisible, cast spells and so on.
Jobs Offered; Researcher is offered, along with jobs as entertainers. Spy is also offered, and so is guard.
Flaws; The Stone can be very draining on energy.
Rejection Process; Bloodstone simply cuts off all use to the power when it rejects.

Tiger's Eye
Country Of Main Stone; Pyroia
Protected By; TBD
Stone Beast Species; An orange eyed tiger roughly three times the size of a normal tiger
Current Users; None yet
Past Users (in roleplay); None yet
Eye Colour; Any shade of orange.
Powers; The Tiger's Eye can heal any injury or sickness.
Jobs Offered; The Tiger's Eye offers jobs as a healer.
Flaws; In order to heal that injury or sickness, the Tiger's Eye must transfer a small part of it onto the User. For example, a User healing someone's broken leg will feel pain and weakness in that leg for a while, though the bone won't actually be broken.
Rejection Process; The Tiger's Eye has never been recorded as rejecting anyone, so at present this is unknown.

Hematite
Country Of Main Stone; Iceia
Protected By; TBD
Stone Beast Species; A purple-eyed polar bear roughly three times the normal size
Current Users; None yet
Past Users (in roleplay); None yet
Eye Colour; Any shade of purple
Powers; The Hematite is special. A User of this Stone can control the elements that make up the world- the earth, the water, the fire and the air. However, Users only live on Iceia, and are very rare compared to the other Stones- even now, with Users on the rise, few become Hematite Users.
Jobs Offered; There are no jobs offered to Hematite Users, nor is anyone likely to be employed if they are a Hematite User. This is because the Hematite's powers are kept hidden- no one knows it has powers yet, except for Users of this Stone, and Iceians, who don't have jobs.
Flaws; Using the elements is a dangerous business. A User can be burnt, drowned, suffocated or buried if they don't use it right- learning how to use this Stone takes a lot of time and practice.
Rejection Process; A User who has been rejected by Hematite will certainly know about it, because the very elements will turn against them until they stop using the Stone.
